Resident Evil Code Veronica Fan Remake Is Here; Check Out the 8-Minute Trailer

While visually it looks good (aside from few points), it’s very clunky so far, not sure if they’ll be able to finish it in 2022. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great work so far (especially for free, by fans), but a lot of the people called this «perfection» and «Million times better than Capcom» and, in my opinion, it’s too far from perfection or better job than Capcom (which makes sense, since Capcom is so huge and have a lot of money). What i’m trying to say, people should stop overhyping everything.

As for issues i saw in the trailer:
– There needs to be something done with the lighting. It’s ok to be dark or even pitch black in some areas, but it shouldn’t be dark 99% of the time (at least trailer made it seem that way);
– Shooting feels unresponsive and doesn’t have any noticable feedback (being attacked and stabbing too), sometimes it feels like player misses or don’t damage the zombie (but that’s not the case actually);
– Problems with the camera (stuck on objects, sometimes too close to character) and shadows;
– Prompts like “Climb the box” shouldn’t be this long (probably should be automatic if you keep running into obstacle and it’s climbable). Animation also look weird;
– Camera feels floaty or “drunk” (especially during shooting, like it dances around the target);
– Special effects need some work (like fire).

I do like the final cutscene, character models and environments. UI feels slow, but that’s probably work in progress. They’re using Unity, judging by the comments from the uploader (in case someone is interested).
