Well I caved and bought Demio yesterday and finally got around to playing it tonight. I know it’s been out for a bit on PC and it has been through a few graphical overhauls. Well I am happy to say that I am GREATLY impressed. Graphically, it isn’t going to win any awards but its graphics are detailed, sharp as a knife, and the world is brought together by excellent sound and voices. Set aside a block of time as I started between 730p~8p & we just won at 10:05p. Luckily the headset is very comfortable and I had zero fatigue. In fact, if I didn’t have to pick my wife up from work I would have committed to another game. The game has had several additions to it such as characters, maps, abilities, and skins added to it and it all cost nothing. Not only that, but going to the games Twitter the devs pledge even more support and at NO COST. Don’t know if it was luck, but everyone in my room I hosted talked, was very mature, and very helpful in showing me the game. I had a blast and realized it’s FAR more to the strategy of the game than click attack and wait for your turn. The amount of things you can interact with, the ways you can interact with them… the tutorial shows nothing about. It’s like a cool game of D&D or Baldurs Gate. Archer shoots the water cask to soak the enemies, Mage uses lighting to zap the entire area. Or warrior uses his grappling hook to pull himself to, or things to him including downed friendlies. It really is an awesome game and I wish more places would talk about it and give it some exposure. Giving away substantial free content? In this day and age? All you pay is the cost of entry? Madness. If you like strategy RPGs and don’t mind collaboration, give this a shot.
