Why MS’s statement (that video games cannibalize sales) will not sit well with publishers when they all seem to be happy at the moment? It’s not like they don’t have sales data, accountants, charts, etc.

Am I a gaming accountant? No!

But guess who’s a gaming accountant? the ones at Sega, EA, Square, etc, who validate the impacts of putting a game on Gamepass and decide if they say yes or no. I’ll thrust their skills over yours thank you.

Yes, I checked Rockstar’s reasons why a game like GTA6 would not be coming to Game Pass day 1and I totally agree with them (see accountant reasons). But they also mentioned recently ” “In any case, no, I don’t believe the business is cannibalising our business.”” when asked about Gamepass and PS+.

As for your question regarding the Subscription lifecycle, Yes I agree with you but it’s not my money, and as a consumer why should I complain? (just like why should I complain about Epic Free weekly games).
Regarding Elden Ring, why would Bandai put it Day 1 on a service when sales projections were super high?
And On the flipside, Bandai did put Scarlet nexus day 1 on the service probably due to low sales expectations.

Now I have no idea why you need sales data, proof, day 1, links, or otherwise, since I have never discussed sales and only said that Sega was happy with Gamepass and by your own admittance that Sega is getting 100% profit from MS check why would that stance change with MS response to Eurogamer?
