@Knushwood Butt: “So, the 18% is for Series X, and not Series S”
Your comment has highlighted a detail that is often obscured from the public. Microsoft doesn’t release Xbox sales figures so we have to use other figures to give us an indication of their install base.
Many times in the UK boxed chart where the PS5 significantly outsells the Xbox Series consoles edition GamesIndustry.biz explains that the platform sales ratio number is disproportionate because Xbox Series S owners buy purely digital games – which at first seems a reasonable comment to make. However, this point needs to be looked at in context with Sony also selling a disc-less PS5 – the digital edition. For GamesIndustry.biz to not mention it can lead us to [speculate] that perhaps PS5 DE’s make up a smaller percentage of the total PS5 install base, and [speculate] that the Xbox Series S makes up a higher percentage of the total Xbox Series user base – but I don’t think the model sales ratio breakdown has been supplied to anyone
However, if looking at the purely physical sales chart of the Hogwarts Legacy first week boxed sales this tells us that the PS5 disc edition is selling 4x the Xbox Series X edition. With Microsoft not supplying their sales figures this means this actually IS a good indication of total install base for the premium consoles with disc drives.

Older first week game platform sales ratio breakdowns also reveal 4-1 sales difference as with Call of Duty Vanguard where PS5 sold 41% of total sales and Xbox Series X 11%. This ratio whilst likely correct, doesn’t take account of the Xbox Series S install base which is cheaper.
“Activision’s shooter primarily sold on PlayStation platforms, with PS5 accounting for 41% of sales, PS4 29%, Xbox One 19% and Xbox Series X and S 11%.” [Note, there isn’t a physical version released on X Series S]
