I do remember that but technically the PS4 was never capable of backwards compatibility.
The ps5 should be perfectly capable of it similar specced PC’s are running rpcs3 and have the capability of emulating many games.
I think that’s the main difference.
Along with that there’s been a number of patents registered regarding emulating older devices by Sony and more specifically mark cerny.
A few instances of PS3 games appearing on the modern PSN and the trophy glitch recently.
And can’t forget the heavily rumoured project Spartacus
Just based on that it seems like we will be seeing BC daily soon
