Take 2 just spent like 12b for Zynga. It turns out that Activision was considering a bid for Zynga but then they backed out. I’m thinking it may have something to do with this deal between MS and them.
In any case, ATT was looking to sell WB games and MS was one of the interested parties but then ATT realized they had so much valuable licensed properties they were sitting on due to not only owning WB games but all of WB in general. The games side would have been a tough loss for them. So WB is off the market (for now). EA is doing okay and Ms has a deal already with them but they could just buy out that contract as a direct result of buying EA… who knows.
MS should now have no excuse as to why they only seem to release games in the holiday season. they got enough now to spread games out through the year.
