One Year Later, Cyberpunk 2077 Is Still a Massive Disappointment

I think it is possible a next-gen update could fix that. I don’t know how their systems work, granted, but in general I’m guessing they allowed themselves more of every resource – CPU, GPU, RAM – when making the first version. In getting it to run on last gen, in the case of NPCs, I’m guessing they ran out of CPU & RAM to run not only the amount of NPCs they showed off in their first trailer, but the breadth of different NPCs as well. Probably had to run duplicated textures & AI to save where they could.

Or perhaps their system relied heavily on having what appeared to be 5, maybe even 10 times the population density in that opening video. With more NPCs, the less likely you’d be to notice the same NPCs over & over, but very easy to pick out when there are like…5 NPCs on any screen at most lol.

Yet to play it, haven’t bought it, waiting to see if they can fix this thing close to what they promised. Hopefully they can. It looked so promising, all those years ago.
